If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that a couple of weeks ago, Nick and I went to a "Chocolate, Cheese, and Bubbles" class, at Scardello.
Scardello is a Dallas cheese shop, near uptown. We have driven past it many a time and always said we wanted to go; however, never actually made it in. When I saw they were having classes around Valentine's Day, I thought it would be the perfect event to take Nick to!
I'm not going to lie...cheese, chocolate, and champagne sounds very weird, but honest to goodness, it doesn't taste weird. I personally find it amazing how flavors work together to enhance each other. In the (paraphrased) words of Matt Chandler, how cool is it that God made flavors work together? Like our tastebuds were designed to do that. I'm honestly still in awe. Can you tell I'm a foodie? hah.
Rich, the owner of Scardello, conducted the class by pairing 4 champagnes, 4 chocolates from Dude Sweet Chocolate (another one of my Dallas faves!), and 8 Scardello cheeses, that they currently sell. So in short, each glass of champagne paired with 1 chocolate and 2 cheeses. We were encouraged to use all of our sensors, to fully taste. Everything was phenomenal - even the creamy blue cheese I could stomach and I usually don't enjoy it!
Scardello Cheese does host other classes throughout the year, but they offer more than that. They literally carry cheese from everywhere around the globe, as well as wine and prepared food. View their class schedule here and their menu here.
If you're in Dallas and get the chance to go, please do. Not near uptown? They recently opened a second location, at the Dallas Farmer's Market.
