Every time I'm on a family road trip - usually trekking back from Arkansas- as soon as we cross the Texas state line, my mom comments how much better it smells and we commence in singing Texas, our Texas, Oh Beautiful, Beautiful Texas, and Deep In the Heart of Texas. My mom is from Texas, and my Dad is from Arkansas...we only sing one song about Arkansas and it doesn't boast of its beauty and splendor, surprisingly.

What is it about Texas that make us so proud of our state? I briefly lived out of state when I was interning in college and was overjoyed whenever I saw anyone with a glimpse of anything Texas related. I deeply missed it. Texas had everything! We have every form of natural beauty, our population is kinder than most, we have fashion fiends, and last but not least, we have good food and drink.

If you didn't know, I actually have a Dallas tab at the top of my webpage. In that section, I talk about all of my favorite Dallas things, including restaurants. My most popular one is my Top 15 Brunch Places in Dallas. Yes, Dallas has great options, but so does Texas in general! I have a Travel tab, as well, which features abroad options, but also Texas favorites, like Fredericksburg!

Another Texas gem? Ozarka water. Ozarka is crafted by 3 Texan springs, giving it a uniquely Texan taste. They recently launched a campaign called #ForHereByHere and I'm so glad they did, because I love learning about new brands, especially when they are local. Here's an overview of the goodies:

Paqui Tortilla Chips. These chips are considered a "Better for you" option, but you'd never guess it with all the flavor. I had the sour cream and salsa verde kind. They were VERDE good.

Snow's BBQ Sauce. Named Texas Monthly's best in Texas pick, this BBQ sauce is phenomenal. I don't usually like the flavor of sauce; however,  Snow's I actually enjoy!

Yellowbird Sauce. I love giving my food a little kick, and this is the perfect add to any meal - my favorite add in, is with veggies...because who actually likes the taste of cauliflower?

The Jelly Queens Black Garlic Rosemary BBQ Sauce. A little goes a long way, with this little jelly. You can tell by the name that it's already covering all of your seasoning bases. This is more like a BBQ jelly, which is still good, you just need less!

Taste Elevated Sweet and Spicy Mustard Seeds. Perfect for sandwiches or salads, mustard seeds give an entree that little needed oomph!

Cookwell and Company Queso. Who knew that queso from a jar could be this good? It is seriously amazing. No questionable nacho cheese in these here parts! You can tell they make it fresh and use real ingredients.

As you can see from my post, all of these items plop perfectly in your pool bag and are ready on deck, to use! If you can find these in a store near you, try them out! You can thank me later :)
