Growing up, I lived by a golf course...

In elementary school, I played softball for two years, but quit. I was never interested in soccer. I mean, what little kid doesn't play soccer?! I think my parents asked me a billion times if I was sure I didn't want to play, because they were worried I was going to resent them for it or something. Buttttt I also don't like rice crispy treats or pb and j sandwiches, so not the first time I was different from all of the other kiddos. Anyway, back to the golf course... I danced, but I didn't really play "a sport". My parents got it in their heads that golf was going to be "my sport". In about 4th or 5th grade, they enrolled me in a golf summer camp, in hopes I would fall in love with it, practice really hard, and get a full scholarship to college for golf. I remember my mom telling me all the "cute outfits" they could get me for it. #SOLD Okay, so clearly that didn't happen. I did get an academic scholarship, but was not a college athlete. I did however take golf in college, if that counts for anything!

Though I'm not a pro, I have always enjoyed golf. My dad and I would attend local golf tournaments growing up - it was usually hot and we were sweaty and sunburned, but it was fun! My golf teacher in college was/is actually a PGA professional (Ray Lamb) and he taught me all the history of the game, which really helped me gain more respect for it. I LOVE that you can play golf with any skill level and it still be fair. (don't fake your handicap, people!). Nick also loves golf - we have access to several local clubs, so we go when we can!

Alright so we are in the golf season right now - trust me I know, because it affects my commute to work everyday! For this blog post, I am collaborating with Concha y Toro Gran Reserva Wine, to celebrate the season of hitting links with Golfweek! *cue the golf claps* Enjoy a $25 creditf on a round of golf at major golf courses nationwide courtesy of Concha y Toro Gran Reserva. Find a specially marked bottle necker where you buy wine. And even better, you can also enter a great sweepstakes to win ā€“ one year of free golf. Enter here!

I'll cheers to that! While I (Nick too!!) think wine goes with almost anything, this Gran Reserva is well under par for pairing with a good golf game! Whether you're celebrating a personal best or just glad to be hanging with your buddies, Concha y Toro Gran Reserva is the perfect bottle to reach for. Cheers to that, y'all!
