It’s really happening! Last month we launched Style for Every Body and I knew it was something I wanted to continue doing, but I just didn’t know how it would work. Getting 4 girls to meet and shoot sounds pretty easy, but life gets in the way and you know, things we want to do don’t always stick. I honestly had no idea where it would go, but here we are with our second monthly feature and at that, we have already already shot for the month of June too!
When discussing what we wanted to do for May, we knew we wanted to do swimsuits. It’s something every looks for coming up on summer and something people hate to look for, so why not help! Before you continue on this month’s feature, make sure you checked out our April edition where we shared jeans for every body type!
Let’s start with me… Lauren from LMents of Style
Aerie Bandeau Top and High Waisted Bikini Bottom | Aerie Sunglasses | Straw Hat
Let’s first talk about where to buy swimsuits… I’m definitely an online shopper and with swimsuits I’m no different. I know a lot of people who go in store and get really frustrated. One of my own tips is to order online and try on in your home. The lighting is usually better at home, plus you can try them on when and where you feel like it, not in the confines of a tiny room everyone has used to strip down in that day. I try to order from places with easy return policies / am very careful when trying swimsuits on (don’t lose the strip in the bottoms!), so I can order more than one size or style and only keep what fits/ what I want.
I’m wearing: Aerie Bandeau Top and High Waisted Bikini Bottom
What size I am wearing: Small Top and Medium Bottom (in Aerie one pieces I get a Medium)
Where I like to shop for swimsuits: I’ve worn Aerie swim for years! I love Aerie because their styles are so cute and the prices are great. I love their brand mission and the fact that they show all body sizes in marketing campaigns. They also offer some styles in long. I love that they make a lot of different styles in the same pattern so you can choose the top or bottom that is right for you, without sacrificing the cute level. I also like what Summersalt is doing marketing and product wise! It is more expensive, but it’s in the designer swim category (Aerie is more fast fashion) and has eco-friendly practices, which costs more to participate in.
How tall I am: 5’7.5”
What body type I identify with: Regular length, Pear shaped
Meredith from The Healthy Curve
If I had to use one word to describe Meredith, it would be confident. She exudes confidence!! On her blog The Healthy Curve she is all about working on yourself and being the best and happiest version you can be, whether that is with a daily workout routine, practicing flexible dieting (macros!) or meditating. This swimsuit is also SO HER. She has this retro/pin-up vibe and it is one of the things that is most notable on her instagram page, besides her workouts ;)
Meredith is wearing: Eloquii Colorblock One Piece
What size she is wearing: 14
Where she likes to shop for swimsuits: She loves to shop for swimwear at Swimsuits for All, Eloquii and Old Navy. One things she looks for when shopping is bra sizing. Swimsuits for All sells bikini tops with bra sizing and that always gives her more support and comfort!
How tall she is: 5’4”
What body type she identifies with: Petite, Curvy, Hourglass
Ginger from The Ginger Marie Blog
Since I mentioned it with Meredith, I’ll go ahead and mention it with Ginger too! I know it makes sense when I say that our swimsuits reflect our personality type, but they really , truly do!! Ginger is the funny one… the one always keeping us giggling and I think her bright and happy swimmie 100% reflects that. If you want to see if she can make you laugh, be sure to check out her Instagram Stories or even in the way she writes over on The Ginger Marie Blog.
Ginger is wearing: Aixy Vintage 2 Piece Swimsuit
What size she is wearing: 5XL (but says she could have sized down to 4XL)
Where she likes to shop for swimsuits: Ginger likes to shop Amazon for swimsuits but they are so cheap, cute and come in all sizes!
How tall she is: 5’11”
What body type she identifies with: Tall, Curvy
Kileen from Cute and Little
I meannn is she not the definition of a sun goddess?! Seriously her swimmie and accessories are so chic! #readyforthesun For this shoot, her sweet kidlets came too and and they were so fun to be around, always keeping us on our toes! Her son was super aware of the shoot and kept asking if “he was in the frame” as to make sure he didn’t get in the way of our shoot! What a gentleman!! Head to her blog Cute and Little to shop her accessories and all! I’m sure she’ll have it linked over on her instagram CuteNLittle too!
Kileen is wearing: J. Crew Laser-Cut Bikini Top and High Waisted Bottom
What size she is wearing: XS in Top and XXS Bottom
Where she likes to shop for swimsuits: She loves to shop at J.Crew for swimmies because their sizing goes down to XXS. Their swimsuits are supportive, give good coverage and they last through washes and wear!
How tall she is: 5’0”
What body type she identifies with: Short, Petite, Athletic Build
Have you grabbed a swimsuit for this summer yet? We are headed to Mexico next month with friends and you can bet this bikini will be coming with me!! Side note, high waisted bikinis are so in right now and I love them, because they feel so much better on than those crazy low cut suits I used to wear. #sorrydad Notice 3/4 of us are wearing the high waist cut and the 1/4 that isn’t is wearing it is wearing a one piece, so that doesn’t count! If you haven’t tried out a high waisted suit yet, definitely try one out this season!
P.S. I wore the solid black bottom of this suit here!
