I mentioned it back on my November Favorites, but I fought the biker shorts trend since it emerged. I wore hot pants in high school for dance, but other than that, haven’t touched the things since the 90’s when they were cool. I think what made me stay away from biker shorts this go around is that they tend to be bermuda short length and only shown on really petite girls. I’m somewhat of a curvy girl in my hips, so it’s easy for body con items to suck on my behind, which isn’tttt my favorite look. My sister-in-law told me to try these Lululemon 6” Align Short and I am sad I didn’t try them sooner. Now I’m like I NEED them in more colors. I own the align leggings, joggers, and now the shorts, so when I say they are super soft and I love them, I mean it. Just a side note on sizing… I wear a 6 in the shorts and leggings, but sized up to an 8 in the jogger, to get more of a loose fit.
Anyway, I think what I liked about these specific biker shorts is that they are the perfect length in my opinion. They do slide up a bit, but not too much. I also like that they were literally made for yoga, but they are nice enough to wear out. Versatility!! Buuut you already know that, because that’s why you’re here ;) At $58, these shorts won’t break the bank, but if you are looking for a more budget friendly option, my sister has these and really likes them. Anyway, so you have a pair now… how do you style them other than with an oversized t-shirt or sweatshirt?

Above is what I call my casual chic. It’s basically dressing up the fact that you are wearing shorts and a t-shirt. This is a nice white t-shirt that has an oversized feel, but isn’t sloppy. I added the scarf for a final touch of elegance. It would still be cute without it, but it dresses it up a whole lot more. I could romp around the city all day in this and be comfy AND cute! This is an example of a more sloppy look. This is also a more casual look, but a little nicer than the previous. Not sure on my opinion on wearing it out, as I prefer to have my bottom covered for the most part, but I still like that I knotted the tee. Your rear is 100% something to consider when styling these, they are pretty form fitting. I tend to style them with larger tops, to off-set the tightness of the shorts.
Below is a little more dressed up, as it’s a button up shirt that is paired with heels. Of the three, this is probably my least favorite look, but I wanted to show it to share they do look good with denim and oversized button ups pair well with them. I have a couple plaid boyfriend fit shirts and the look great. I love to wear them buttoned partially like I’m wearing here, but also layered with a form fitting tank. All of these options are still fairly casual though and not too over the top, which is what I prefer. No need to call extra attention to myself over these cute shorts. Hah!
I thinkkk this might be my favorite look. I really do like dressing them up! I saw a lady on Rodeo Drive yesterday and she was wearing some similar biker shorts with a long cardigan and gosh, she looked cute. And I told her at that! Always compliment people when you can. You never know how it will brighten their day.
I wore an outfit similar to this the other night, but wore a crop instead of a tee and sneakers instead of boots. Loved it!! I also wore these for Halloween and was a biker (short) girl. See? They truly do wear beyond yoga!!
